Changing Seasons

The wind howled outside “He’ll be a spring baby. Seems fitting.” He watched her, reaching desperately for the right words and fully aware of how important his reaction was in the moment. “You sure this is what you want?”

She looked back at him and sighed, “Well, it wasn’t what we anticipated, at least not now.”

“True. I’m ok with whatever decision you want to make,” he reassured her, “Whatever you decide, we’re in it together.”

“It’s just a change of plans. I can handle a change of plans.” She smiled softly, touching his hand, and hoping he couldn’t sense the unease she felt in her gut, “We’ll figure it out.”
